Bio

A veteran of many Belgian cricket seasons, Steve has cricket coursing through his veins. An amicable West Londoner with Worcester-sauce wit, Stevie Wonders how and why he used to be an all-rounder??? Today, Steve focuses on his tight medium-quick bowling which is a real torment to batsmen. Invariably, he will look to re-produce his bowling performance of 2007 in which he bagged 30 wickets. There is nothing stopping him from getting 75 wickets in all cricket by the end of the 2009 season as a central part of the First XI.
With willow in hand, Steve loves the challenge of pitching to the long-on boundary with his 9-iron. More calculated batting will see this other ‘Ginga Ninga’ regain his mantle of a bowling all-rounder. “You can bat, mate” – so Scotty says.
Bright, humorous and well respected by the club, “Edward Scissors-hand” will not be asked mow the infield in 2009. But he is very welcome to arrange the next tour of the UK in 2010.
In the near future, Woody could be joined by his sons Isaac and Elias (who are both showing real promise) in the senior teams to carry on the decade-old tradition of ‘caught Woodbridge, bowled Woodbridge’ combos.
